REGENERATION
Why Aldershot needs SiGNAL now.
Hey there. If you run a business in the Aldershot and Farnborough area, we have exciting news! SiGNAL is heading your way. After six years of supporting the regeneration in Bordon we are stretching our wings.
Although we will continue to support our growing business community in Bordon in every way we can, we can't wait to turn our attention to the challenges in nearby Aldershot, a town with so much potential.
In Bordon, SiGNAL has been a catalyst for local businesses. We've supported hundreds of small business owners, hosted over 200 networking and training events, and grown our portfolio of commercial space to an impressive 20,000 square feet of space, hosting 42 business tenants. We’re proud to say that for every 1,000 square feet we lease, our tenants create an average of five new jobs annually. These achievements demonstrate our commitment to fostering a thriving business environment.
Like Bordon, Aldershot is a garrison town. However, while Bordon saw its army presence decimated in 2016, Aldershot retains a connection to its military heritage, which continues to shape its community. Both towns share a spirit of resilience and adaptability, making them ideal locations for business growth. Aldershot is better positioned with excellent transport links to London and Guildford, offering exciting possibilities for businesses looking to connect with larger markets.
Why does Aldershot need SiGNAL ?
Despite Aldershot being more than twice the size of Bordon, and in a better location, it is surprisingly underprovided in terms of business support and community events. With a wealth of potential businesses yet to be fully engaged, we see a significant opportunity to fill this gap. Our aim is to create a vibrant SiGNAL business community that provides the networking, training, and support that entrepreneurs need to thrive, as well as our signature flexible and affordable workspace provision.
The recent election of a Labour government with a strong mandate and a clear willingness to collaborate with business leaders presents a timely opportunity for SiGNAL to scale. This new administration's focus on unlocking productivity and growth aligns perfectly with our mission. The anticipated acceleration of housing developments in Aldershot, spurred by government initiatives, is a positive sign for local businesses, as it will bring in more residents and customers, fostering a dynamic economic landscape.
Like Bordon, Aldershot is experiencing a wave of regeneration, including the development of 120 student flats in Aldershot Centre to house students for the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) in nearby Farnham. This is part of the wider local plan commitment to build 7500 new homes across Rushmoor between 2014 and 2032 (of which about half have been built so far, notably on the Wellesly Estate in Aldershot) .
The influx of students into Aldershot town centre presents an excellent opportunity for local businesses to tap into a fresh customer and labour base. Additionally, ongoing town centre regeneration projects indicate a commitment to revitalizing the area and attracting new residents and businesses alike.
SiGNAL is not just a workspace provider. We are committed to making sure that local business is connected to local opportunity and that stakeholders, local government and businesspeople across our towns have collaborative business relationships.
Signal’s expansion into Aldershot is all about opening new doors for businesspeople. We aim to create a welcoming community, offering everything from regular business events, training, and workshops, mentoring and signposting and of course workspace - everything ranging from virtual offices and hot desks to quirky studios, larger office spaces and semi-industrial.

In summary, Aldershot has all the ingredients for a thriving business ecosystem, and SiGNAL is here to help unlock that potential. We invite local business owners to join us in this exciting journey as we build a supportive community that champions innovation, growth, and collaboration.
Let’s hear from some of our Bordon customers:
Joesef Shaw - Joe Shaw Artist
I have been a resident with SiGNAL for 18 months now and love every moment of being in my studio. Being a SiGNAL tenant is so much more than just paying the rent, it’s being part of a small business network that support and encourage. Their BIZHUB is a great opportunity to network, set up collaborative working, socialise and celebrate successes.
Niall Jones - Peerspace
5 stars, it’s a no brainer, epic value, excellent, dynamic, inclusive networking and thought leadership events, at least four per month, a range of add on services, invitations to benefit from other special offers, super supportive and accessible team and an excellent online hub giving an opportunity to raise your own profile and easily access an array of other Signal members. The list goes on, nothing else like it in the area, highly recommend without hesitation!
David Tinson - Stenball & Stenball
We have been tenants at SiGNAL @ the Shed for nearly two years now and have discovered the full SiGNAL experience. We are a Design & Build commercial construction outfit attached to a much larger building contractor, this being our satellite showroom and office. Unlike most serviced office providers, Signal have created a 'business hub', very much a business 'eco system', in which all are included, and which offers a multitude of opportunities for interactive work, business support, learning and sharing knowledge. We have met new clients, and suppliers have met us through this network already. There is no pressure to attend events, but you are heartily welcomed when you do. The Whitehill and Bordon Regeneration Project is particularly interesting and an important investment in the locality and in which Signal are closely involved. We have gained an enormous amount of knowledge from attending the Signal organised Friday BOSC events in which they have secured some great speakers on the subject (developers, planners and councillors providing reliable information as to the plans and progress of the new town) as well as some great business talent sharing their knowledge. The presenters are great fun as well! Really impressed.
Let’s connect, engage, and grow together in Aldershot!
