Success is not a straight line. However, this is what a lot of the "you can do it" business literature wants you to think.

When you begin, there's a fairly straight path in your head from "Start" to "Success"

All the business books make it sound so easy!

But this is not what success actually looks like.

It's messy, tough and not so linear. If you think of all the times you could have made an alternative choice, just think how different things could be today!

My business journey has been anything but a linear path and it's in the depths of my biggest failures that the seeds of my success were sown. Unless you have paid your dues, learnt the lessons, modified your behaviour and turned failure into success you will keep making the same mistakes until you learn the lesson and change your behaviour.
